Organic Decaf English Breakfast Tea

A decaffeinated alternative to our signature tea. Malty and full-bodied, this cup is great with a splash of milk and sugar. 6 Pack contains six boxes  (20 tea bags per box, individually wrapped for freshness).

Our partners in India use an organic CO2 process to decaffeinate our decaf teas, regarded as the best process for caffeine removal in the industry. Unlike other methods, this process maintains levels of antioxidants, healthy nutrients, and the flavor of pure tea, and leaves no trace of chemicals or potentially-harmful solvents on the leaves. To remove caffeine, the tea leaves are cleaned, and dust is removed. They are soaked in water and then placed in a pressurized chamber, where safe and natural Carbon Dioxide (CO2) locks onto, and removes the caffeine. The leaves are then dried and ground to size. The process takes about 8 hours with the result of our delicious decaf tea.

Transforming the tea industry

We are proud to support the Potong Tea Garden in Darjeeling, India. Once a colonial plantation, Potong is now collectively run by its workers, paving a stronger, more democratic path forward for the community. This revolutionary model generates significant improvements for the garden’s 350 workers and their families, and is helping to spark a badly needed transformation of the tea industry. Most teas–even those that are certified as fair trade–come from large plantations where workers have little say and are trapped in a system of dependency. The small farmers who grow our teas control their land and their livelihoods. Together, we’re building an alternative tea model and a farmer-led future for the tea industry.

Roasting Block Goes Here

At our solar-powered roastery in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, our worker-owner team batch roasts and conducts production cuppings daily to bring out the best characteristics in each harvest. With four primary roast levels, we think there’s a favorite here for everyone. Obviously this needs to be updated for UK roasting.

Medium Roast: expect the unique citrus, nutty, fruity, or floral notes of each coffee to shine through.

Full City Roast: you’ll get a bit more of the caramel flavor that comes from the roasting process.

Vienna Roast: starts to bring the smoky aroma and smooth and rich body of a darker roast.

French Roast: with the natural oils fully expressed, it’s an intensely dark and smoky experience akin to dark chocolate.
